ABOUT US“Culture is roughly anything we do and the monkeys don't.”
- Lord Raglan

Walk into your average department store and you can buy a mass produced, assembly line, screen-printed canvas for £100. In my shop and on my site you can spend the same amount and own an item that is culturally important and may well enrich your life and probably increase in value over the years, like an original French Situationist poster from 1968 or an original drawing by Seen, the god-father of modern graffiti.

I believe that art and books are not an elitist commodity, changing hands for thousands of pounds in exclusive galleries or in antiquated old-boys clubs and neither are they a disposable ‘unit’ bought through a faceless website or a temporary decoration soon to be resigned to interior design’s dustbin.

I believe that books and art are the keenest expression of culture, something to be enjoyed, shared, studied, savoured and celebrated. I set up AMUTi 23 in 2007, having already spent 10 years dealing at the very highest level of the rare books and rarities trade. It was, and still is, my sole intention to create a friendly, knowledgeable and, above all, a fun and accessible environment where people with any budget, from any walk of life, of any age can come together to share a common enjoyment of culture and, hopefully, take something home that they will enjoy for years to come.

I relish working closely with people and giving them advice on their collecting whether they are building a serious library, tracking down books or wishing to buy art. This includes viewing and bidding on their behalf at auction or just helping someone find that one item or perfect gift. The stock I select reflects my personal tastes which are often anarchic, irreverent and counter-cultural but also of substance and importance.

Don't have the time to buy that cool and edgy gift for that important person?

Matching people with that perfect item is what I do best. So whether you are buying something for a loved one or trying to locate that perfect cooperate gift then let me take the strain. I have provided 'wrap' party gifts for some of the largest film and theatre production companies in the world and have help countless artist relations people buy gifts. Gift items can be delivered same day, ready wrapped with a personalised card and a full and detailed description outlining the items importance and authenticity . I didn't want to recapture my youth. I just wanted express it,".

- PRE-ORDER SIGNED COPY - MARIPOL. Little Red Riding Hood. Bologna: Damiani Editor, 2010.

£40.00

Original colour photographic boards. A fine copy.
First edition, signed, of this lavish production chronicling the designes a career of jewellery legend Maripol. Maripol's work as an art director, designer, and film producer has influenced popular movements in music, fashion and art since the early 1980s. For the first time, she is opening her scrapbooks of drawings, design, photography and writing to create a book that captures her personality as an artist. With a fascination in fashion that goes back to her mother and grandmother Mathilde, Maripol was a natural model for the myths and legends that rocked her youth and made her a winner for the best costume contest at school as Little Red Riding Hood. Fresh out of Les Beaux Arts, she landed in New York and a job with Fiorucci based on her designs of wearable sculpture and jewelry made from industrial objects. Textures, fabrics, and scents were no stranger to a girl who grew up in Africa... From that auspicious beginning, her designs permeated the art, music and fashion of the following three decades. Madonna, Keith Haring and Basquiat are a few of the significant people of our times that she has influenced, filmed, and photographed. Currently, she is collaborating with Marc Jacobs for accessories. The material presented in this book exposes the genius of having kept these journals intact and the fragility of an innocent little girl growing fast in the world of the big bad wolves.
